Xu Yunqiao, known as the "Master of Southeast Asian Studies", devoted his life to academic research and wrote many books. In 2004, Professor Zheng Liangshu, a Malaysian sinologist, convened the "Editorial Committee of Xu Yunqiao's Complete Works" headed by him to collect and organize Xu's works, in an effort to publish and preserve the classics.
The Complete Works of Xu company banner design Yunqiao has a total of 23 volumes in 8 volumes, covering history and geography of Southeast Asia (5 volumes), overseas Chinese and Chinese in Southeast Asia (2 volumes), historical materials and historiography (3 volumes), phonological and linguistic studies (2 volumes), and special studies (1 volume) , History and Geography (1 volume), Art and Literature Miscellaneous (5 volumes), Foreign Language Translations (4 volumes). The academic tradition of the origin of the Chinese language in Singapore and Malaysia has a long history, and there are few large-scale research works. The complete collection took more than ten years and was finally announced on May 30, 2021.
From the compilation to the fundraising, there is no one. Not a tough challenge. From the collection of letters to the complete works, the two are independent, but also related to each other, with both meticulousness and breadth. On the way to search for self-identity, these historical materials left by Xu's family to future generations are for me a supplement of local credits. Therefore, it is recommended to all Taiwanese students and scholars of Southeast Asian studies.
